Care Package Program

Vietnamese American Uniformed Services Association (VAUSA) Care Package Instruction  The Vietnamese American Uniformed Services Association (VAUSA) established the Care Package program to enhance morale of VAUSA members, especially those who are deployed to Hostile/Danger or Combat zones. Once notified and with VAUSA Executive Director’s concurrence, the Deputy Director of Logistics will send out a care package (cost $35 to $50 and postage fees). The Deputy Director of Logistics will need to keep track of all the receipts for the care packages sent and report to get reimburse.
  1. Eligibility
    • VAUSA members in good standing
    • Deploying to Danger/Hostile/Combat Zones
  2. Procedure
    • Member contacts the Deputy Director of Logistics or Executive Director to provide pertinent information
      • Rank/Rate Name, Service
      • Period of deployment (from MM/YY to MM/YY)
      • Location in general (Afghanistan, Iraq, etc…
      • APO/FPO address
    • Member notifies the Deputy Director of Logistics or Executive Director once the package has been received; provides a photo of member with package for media release on FB and website
  3. Suggested Care Package Contents
    • Instant Vietnamese Noodles (Phở Gà, Phở Bò, Hủ Tiếu)
    • Instant Vietnamese Cafe
    • Vietnamese Beef Jerky/Squid (Khô Bò, Khô Mực)
    • Hoisin Sauce/Hot Sauce
    • Dried Plums (Xí Muội)
    • DVD (Asia DVD or Paris by Night DVD)
    • Chopsticks/Soup spoon/Bowl
    • Others Vietnamese culture items
  4.  Sponsorship
    • Contact the Deputy Director of Logistics or Executive Director to get the APO/FPO address of member
    • Ship items directly to member
    • Send items to the Deputy Director of Logistics for further distribution
    • Cash or check are always welcome
  5. Public Relation
    • Sponsorship and information about Care Package Program will be widely distributed on Facebook, website, and community media
